Hello!!!

My name is Dolores Crooke.I live in King William, Virginia with my husband Jeff and our 3 dogs and 2 cats. We are both originally from New Jersey and moved here in 2001. We previously resided in the Shenandoah Valley moving just outside of Richmond in 2016. We love living in this part of state and frequently head out to one of the many rivers in our area (6 I think!) or the Chesapeake Bay to nuture our souls and rejuvenate our spirt. 

I have always had an artistic flair. When i was very young I would sew clothes for my dolls.  In high school I started taking art classes. Some of my work was even presented at a local art show! After high school I went to nursing school but continued my creative endeavors by sewing and quilting. 

About ten years ago we were upgrading a bathroom in our previous home and I decided to paint the vanity instead of replacing. I was hooked on refinishing furniture! I painted and /or refinished everything and anything, learning so many tips and tricks along the way. Some of those early pieces were a little rough but I grew my skills with each piece

In the past few years I have started to experiment with techniques and brands of furniture paint. I have also started to incorporate artistic details with acrylic paints on my pieces. For me, recreating a piece of furniture is an artistic endeavor. I want it to be a art, something that will stand the test of time in any home like a great painting. Much of my inspiration for these pieces comes from the water, nature and the beautiful area where we live.
